Jewish Free Loan is excited to announce that former Executive Director, Tina Sheinbein, will be presented with the President’s Award as part of a special virtual event on May 23, 2021.

Established in 2007, this award is presented by the President of Jewish Free Loan, on behalf of the Board of Directors, to an individual, organization, or institution that encourages Jewish continuity and reflects the values and principles of Jewish Free Loan. This individual exemplifies service and leadership in enabling Jewish individuals and families to improve their lives and achieve greater stability with regard to their long-term well-being.

Tina worked for Jewish Free Loan for more than 15 years, first as the Director of Development & Outreach and later as the Executive Director. She contributed her vision and dedication to JFL, and was also a key proponent in creating the named loan fund program. After retiring in June 2020, Tina became the part-time Coordinator for the International Association of Jewish Free Loans (IAJFL). In this role, she supports the efforts of IAJFL, a network of more than 50 free loan agencies serving communities around the world.

The President’s Award was last presented in 2019 to Kathy Rood of Jewish Family & Children’s Services. Traditionally this award is presented as part of JFL’s Annual Meeting, a large in-person gathering. This year, to ensure the health and safety of the community, JFL President, Ora Zutler, will present this award to Tina during a virtual Gratitude Gathering. The event will take place as a live broadcast as a way to thank the community for their support throughout the last year, give an update on JFL’s impact and more.
