JFL Announces Transition of Executive Director

Jewish Free Loan would like to announce the transition of Executive Directorship from Tina Sheinbein to Ellen Friedman Sacks to take place on June 1st, 2020. After serving as a board member for 2 years, Ellen became part of the professional staff for JFL in June 2012. Since then she has played an integral part in expanding JFL’s outreach, loan programs and marketing & communications. After 2.5 years on staff, Ellen formally became the Associate Executive Director. She is now honored to take the reins as Executive Director after many years of mentorship under Tina and other community partners.

During this time of transition, Jewish Free Loan would like to congratulate Tina Sheinbein on her retirement from the position of Executive Director. Tina has worked for JFL for over 15 years, first as the Director of Development & Outreach and later as the Executive Director. Tina has contributed her vision and dedication to this organization, and was also a key proponent of creating the named loan fund program.

Post-retirement, Tina will become the part-time coordinator for the International Association of Jewish Free Loans (IAJFL). In this role, she will support the effort of IAJFL, a network of more than 50 free loan agencies serving communities around the world.
