A lifeline when it matters most: Sharon’s story of hope and the impact of Jewish Free Loan
When Sharon Friendly found herself facing life-changing challenges, not once, but twice in her life, Jewish Free Loan was there to provide the support she needed to move forward.
Sharon first turned to JFL in 1998 after a divorce left her starting over. “I had absolutely no money and needed to move, pay rent, and cover basic living expenses,” Friendly shared. The loan provided a critical lifeline during a difficulty transition, helping her regain stability and rebuild her life.
Years later, Sharon found herself in another unexpected crisis. She became the victim of an intricate scam involving a fraudulent Wells Fargo call that resulted in thousands of dollars being stolen from her account. Devastated and overwhelmed by what had happened, she immediately remembered the support she received from JFL decades earlier and reached out for help.
“I was so very upset about what had happened to me, but I immediately felt relief knowing JFL was here to help me dig out of the massive fraud situation that occurred,” said Friendly.
JFL was more than just a loan for her, it was a reminder that she was not alone. “JFL literally saved me,” Friendly shared. “I felt desperate to be in such a situation, but the loan helped me pay my expenses so I could move forward.”
Stories like Sharon’s highlight the powerful impact of interest-free lending and the generosity of JFL donors who make these loans possible. “I sincerely hope that one day I can become a donor. I am so thankful to everyone who gives, and I want them to know that they touch so many lives with their generosity,” said Friendly.
Through every season of life, JFL continues to be a trusted resource, offering kindness, compassion, and a helping hand when community members need it most. For more information on how to donate, please visit our donation page.
