General Purpose and Personal Loans

1. Loans up to $2000 require one guarantor. Loans up to $5000 require two guarantors.
2. A maximum of $5000 for all categories.
3. Applicants are limited to no more than two loans in a seven year period.
4. Borrower shall repay loans over a period of up to two years for loans up to $2000 and three years for loans up to $5000; payments will be made in equal monthly payments.

Adoption Loans
Same as general loan criteria, with the following additions and modifications

1. A maximum of $10,000 available to a single person or couple
2. Repayment terms up to 5 years, depending on the amount of the loan
3. Loans up to $2,000 require 1 guarantor: over $2,000 requires 2 guarantors; over $5,000 require 3 guarantors
4. Applicants must be pre-certified for adoption by the State of Arizona
5. There is no limit on the number of adoption loans offered to the same applicant(s) as long as the total outstanding balance does not exceed the $10,000 maximum
6. The applicant(s) must be certified by the State of Arizona to be an adoptive parent when submitting the application.

Jewish Continuity Loan
Same as general loan criteria and also includes the following additions and modifications

1. Maximum loan amount for Jewish camp and leadership is $2,500 per child. A maximum of $5000 for all other categories within Jewish Continuity.
2. Guarantors will be requires for Jewish continuity loans (Israel experience, Jewish camp, Jewish education, etc.)
3. There is no limit to the number of loans an applicant may apply for as long as they do not exceed the maximum loan amount of $10,000 and they are current in their loan payments..

Student Loans
Same as general loan criteria and also includes the following additions and modifications

1. The maximum loan limit for student loans is $5,000 per year
2. All payments will be made directly to the student
3. Annual student expense and/or financial aid letter; proof of enrollment and transcript.  All recipients of student loans will sign an agreement to be involved in a community service/mitzvah project and submit an update before receiving their loan
4. Loans can cover tuition, school related fees, books and living expenses
5. Student loans may be used as a revolving credit line extending over four years for full-time undergraduate students and four years for graduate students
6. Applicants must be Arizona residents but may attend an out of state educational institution
7. Application deadlines are May 15 and November 1. Interviews are conducted between June 1 and July 15 and again over Thanksgiving break.
8. After approval, checks will be issued in late summer and in January

Women and Children in Crisis Loans
Same as general loan criteria and also includes the following additions and modifications

1. Maximum loan amount is $5000.
2. Additional funds up to $10,000 may be available upon Loan Policy and Review Committee approval

Medical and Dental Loans
Same as general loan criteria and also includes the following additions and modifications

1. Loans in this category are limited to no more than two loans in a seven year period.
2. Funds will be paid directly to the physician, dentist or medical provider when deemed appropriate by the interview team or the staff.

Employment and Business Loans
Same as general loan criteria and also includes the following additions and modifications

1. Loans of up to $2,000, $5,000 and $20,000
2. Applicants are limited to no more than two loans in a seven year period.
3. A graduated repayment schedule for start-up business loans may be offered with the Loan Review Committee approval
4. Borrowers will submit a business plan.  Information on permits and licenses should also be submitted

Jewish Burial Loans
Same as general loan criteria and also includes the following additions and modifications

1. There is no limit to the number of loans made as long as they do not exceed the $5000 maximum
2. There is no concern regarding alternative funding sources
